I payed manually and asked to cancel my DD but it still ran — why?
Once a direct debit has been submitted to GoCardless, it cannot be recalled. Fundtap needs at least 1 full business day's notice before the DD is submitted to GoCardless to be able to cancel it in time.
If you provide notice that you have made a manual payment, and request for a dd to be cancelled outside of business hours, the Fundtap team will not see or be able to take action until the next business day. This means that making a manual payment one day before a dd is set to process may not result in there being enough time to cancel it.
If you do wish to pay early, the simplest and most effective means is to simply move the direct debit date forward in your portal.
