Reviewing and signing your documents
When you are completing Finalise Your Setup, this step will appear if you are an owner or director. Documents are signed electronically through Annature, so nothing needs printing.
Why is the step grey and will not open?Signing stays locked until your identity check is finished, because your documents are prepared with the legal name from that check.
Go back to Verify Identity and complete it. This step unlocks on its own once the check comes back.
Why do I need a witness?Due to the type of agreement, someone has to watch you sign. Your witness must be over 18 and must not be a business associate.
Who counts as a business associate?
Anyone involved in your business cannot be your witness; a co-director, an employee, a shareholder. A friend, a neighbour or a family member with no involvement in the business is fine.
Can my witness join by video call?
They need to be in the room to see you sign.
Problems while signing
Nothing happened when you selected Sign Document
The signing window is a pop-up, and your browser has probably blocked it. Look for a blocked-popup icon in the address bar, allow pop-ups for our site, and select the button again.
The button says "Awaiting"
Your signature is being recorded by our signing software. It changes to Completed after a short period of time.
A document's button is greyed out and you cannot select it
That document has to be signed by someone else, e.g. trustees, or directors of another company. We email it to them automatically when you open this step. There is nothing for you to do, and no button for you to press.
You signed but the step has not completed
The step finishes on its own once there is nothing left for you to sign. If another document is still listed as unsigned, that one is holding it. If everything shows Completed and the step has not, then contact us.
You need to change something in a document
Contact us before signing. Once a document is signed it cannot be changed from your side.
What you will be asked to sign- Fundtap Agreement — everyone signs this. The terms and conditions for the funding service.
- Personal Guarantee — from the directors or owners.
- Trust Guarantee — if a trust is part of your structure.
- Corporate Guarantee — if a related company helps secure the facility.
