Moneytech is a broad business lender, and its closest product to FundTap is Cash Advance: a confidential invoice finance facility with limits from $150,000 to $1 million. The biggest difference is how you use it. FundTap has no facility and no minimum: you fund one invoice, one customer or several, from $300, and each is repaid once on its due date, with no setup or ongoing fees. Moneytech suits larger ongoing facilities, funding before an invoice exists, or equipment and property-backed lending.

Moneytech facility limits, advance rate, entry criteria and features are taken from Moneytech's own published invoice finance page, read on 7 October 2026. A facility, or one invoice
Moneytech's Cash Advance is a facility: you set up a limit of at least $150,000 and draw against your receivables. FundTap has no facility. You choose an invoice, see the fee, and fund it. Fund one this month and none next month, and nothing is charged in between.
That difference shapes who each one suits. A business that funds a large part of its ledger every month may be well served by a facility, and at constant high use a facility can work out cheaper. A business with an occasional gap, or one big invoice from a slow-paying customer, is usually better off funding just that invoice. The $150,000 minimum also puts Cash Advance out of reach for many smaller businesses that FundTap funds every day.
With FundTap, each funded invoice is repaid once, by direct debit, on its due date. There is no ongoing facility to manage and nothing to close if you stop using it.
Before the invoice, or after it
FundTap funds work you have already done and invoiced. Moneytech also funds earlier in the cycle. Its trade finance pays local or overseas suppliers before you have made the sale, with up to 120 days to repay and borrowing up to $10m.
If your gap is paying for stock or materials before you can invoice, that is a different problem, and trade finance is built for it. If your gap is waiting for customers to pay invoices you have already sent, FundTap is built for that. Some businesses use both.
Moneytech's other products
Moneytech's breadth is its real strength, and for some needs it is the better choice. On its published pages:
- Business loans from $25,000 to $500,000, with terms up to 36 months and approvals often within 24 hours. It asks for 12 months of GST registration and 12 months of bank statements.
- A line of credit of up to $500,000, with up to 120 days to repay each drawdown.
- Trade finance up to $10m, for paying suppliers before you sell.
- Equipment finance for vehicles, machinery and other assets.
- Secured loans from $100,000 to $2.5 million, backed by residential or commercial property.
None of these compete directly with FundTap. A business might finance a truck through Moneytech and fund the invoices that truck earns through FundTap.
Six questions to ask any invoice finance provider
- Is there a minimum facility size or monthly minimum? Ask what happens in a month you don't use it.
- What is every fee, in dollars? Ask about establishment, monthly, turnover and exit fees, not just the rate.
- Can I choose which invoices to fund? Or does the facility cover the whole ledger?
- Will my customers be contacted, or asked to pay a different account? Ask about debtor verification as well as collections.
- How much of each invoice is advanced? And when is the rest released?
- How do I leave? Ask about notice periods and closing costs.
Ask FundTap the same six. The answers are: no minimum and no facility, so nothing is charged in a month you don't use it; one fee per invoice, shown in dollars before you accept, with no setup, monthly or exit fees; you choose every invoice; your customers aren't contacted and keep paying you as normal; up to 90% is advanced, and the balance less the fee is released on repayment; and you can stop whenever you like.

Common questions
What is the difference between FundTap and Moneytech?
Moneytech is a broad business lender. Its closest product to FundTap is Cash Advance, an ongoing invoice finance facility with limits from $150,000 to $1 million. FundTap is selective: you fund the invoices you choose, from $300, with no facility and no setup or ongoing fees, and each is repaid once on its due date. Moneytech suits larger ongoing facilities, funding before an invoice exists, or equipment and property-backed lending.
What is Moneytech Cash Advance?
Moneytech describes Cash Advance as a simplified version of invoice finance. It has facility limits from $150,000 to $1 million, advances up to 80% of the invoice value, uses your receivables as security, connects to Xero, and is confidential with no control account, so you keep your existing bank setup.
Will my customers know?
Not with FundTap: your customers aren't contacted and keep paying you as normal. Moneytech describes Cash Advance as confidential too. For its full Invoice Finance facility, ask how collections and debtor verification work.
Is Moneytech cheaper than FundTap?
It can be, for a larger facility you use all the time. Moneytech prices its invoice finance on application, so ask for every fee in writing, including whether any apply in months you don't draw. FundTap is one fee per invoice, from 4%, shown in dollars before you accept, with no setup or ongoing fees. Compare the total dollar cost for the funding you actually need.
Is there a minimum?
Moneytech's Cash Advance facility starts at $150,000. FundTap has no minimum facility and no minimum number of invoices, and funds invoices from $300.
Does it cost less if my customer pays early?
With FundTap, yes. The fee is recalculated for the actual number of days the funding runs, so it comes down if your customer pays early. If the repayment date moves out, the extra days are added.
Do I need property security?
FundTap does not take property security. It takes a general security agreement over the business, and for funding limits over $30,000 a personal guarantee, which needs to be backed by property the guarantor owns. Moneytech says its invoice finance uses your receivables as security, with no property security needed. Whichever provider you use, ask exactly what security applies.
How quickly can I get funded?
Once your accounting software is connected and your account is approved, eligible invoices are typically funded within 2 hours of approval.
