Parts for the farm, paid on terms
The business imports and sources parts and products for the agricultural industry, from a base in Otago and Southland. Its customers are farming operations and the businesses that supply them.
Those customers pay on terms. When they signed up in January 2025, the owner told the FundTap team the customers paid a month after the month of the invoice. In practice, the money comes in around the 20th.
The supplier’s bill lands first
The parts come from suppliers with their own terms, and one of them wants paying in the middle of the month. The customers’ money for those parts lands around the 20th.
For a few days, then, the business has paid for the parts and hasn’t yet been paid for them. On a small order that’s easy enough to carry. On a bigger deal, it’s a real sum sitting in parts already delivered.
Funding the gap on a bigger deal
They signed up in January 2025 and didn’t need to use it for a year. In January 2026 they funded their first two invoices.
They put forward the invoice they want funded, the fee is shown before they commit, and the customers pay the business on their usual terms.
“...one of my suppliers, I’ve got to pay on the 15th, and then, you know, you normally get paid on the 21st...”

Room for the bigger deals
A bigger deal means more parts bought and more money waiting on the 20th. Funding that invoice for about a month covers the supplier’s bill until the customer pays, and the deal goes ahead at full size.
“...especially some of the bigger deals, just to help out for sort of a month, it makes a huge difference.”

Growing with the turnover
In January 2026, the owner asked the FundTap team whether the funding limit could grow as turnover did. In September 2026 it was raised.
Four invoices have been funded since January 2026, the latest in July 2026. When the customers’ timing works on its own, there’s nothing to fund and nothing to pay.
“...it’s good to have there on offer. And yeah, it’s easy to use, makes it real handy for me.”
