Made in Sydney, sold two ways
The business designs and makes women’s clothing in Sydney. Everything from the design to the assembly is done locally, with materials sourced in Australia.
It sells two ways. Online customers buy from the store and pay upfront. Retailers place bulk orders, and that is most of the business.
The bulk orders are where the growth is, and the biggest retailers set the terms.
The big retailer pays two months on
A few of the retail customers are big ones. They order in large quantities, and their terms run to two months from the invoice.
Every piece in that order has been designed and assembled locally, with the makers and the materials paid for before it ships. Two months is a long time to wait for the money on an order that size.
When they signed up in September 2024, the owner explained that a few big retail customers placed large orders on terms that ran to two months.
Funding the retail invoices
They signed up in September 2024 and connected Xero. In October 2024 they funded their first two invoices.
Once a bulk order has shipped and been invoiced, the owner can fund that invoice instead of waiting out the retailer’s terms. The fee is shown before they commit, and the retailer pays the business as it normally would.
Room for the next bulk order
With a shipped order funded, the money for the next production run is there before the retailer pays for the last. That matters when the orders are big.
The owner also told the FundTap team the plan was to grow the online store overseas and win more bulk orders from retailers. Funding the retail invoices is what keeps that plan moving.
February 2025 was their busiest month, with nine invoices funded.
When the big order lands
They funded three invoices in 2024, 14 in 2025 and five so far in 2026, 22 in all, with the most recent in September 2026.
The online sales never need funding, because the customer has already paid. It’s the big retail orders the owner funds, one invoice at a time, and nothing is charged in between.
