The story in short
- 7 invoices funded since February 2026
- 5 of 6 of the last six months had a funded invoice
- 6 of 8 months they’ve used FundTap since their first funding
The gap
This builder does new builds and refurbishments, billing monthly on progress claims. A claim goes in at the start of the month and is paid from the 20th. They’re paid for completed work, not for the deposits they pay subcontractors up front.
Until 2025 the business had enough cash in-house to cover the difference. After a quiet year it didn’t, just as bigger contracts started coming back.
“...I was dealing with a bit of a pre-pour inspection with the engineers.”

How they use FundTap
Their broker introduced them to FundTap in February 2026. They fund progress claims already issued, using the cash for deposits and the next stage’s costs. Clients pay as normal, and FundTap never contacts them.
Seven invoices have been funded across six of the eight months since February 2026. Five of those came in the last six months.
Invoices funded each month, as a table
| Month | Invoices funded |
|---|---|
| February 2026 | 2 |
| March 2026 | 0 |
| April 2026 | 1 |
| May 2026 | 1 |
| June 2026 | 0 |

“...for the short term, and then we can just use it as a growth point of view, as in when we need it in future, once we’ve got a bit of a working relationship going on between us.”

What’s changed
The business doesn’t have to carry the claims cycle from its own cash any more. With the bigger contracts under way, it has funded an invoice in five of the last six months.
