The story in short
- 13 invoices funded since October 2024
- 2 increases to their funding limit
- 9 of 24 months they’ve used FundTap since their first funding
The gap
For a while this contractor ran the business on the side, with council work as the main customer. Then the owner decided to go full time.
A big first council invoice was due to go out at the end of the month. The council pays at the end of the following month, and the purchase order was still on its way. Meanwhile the month’s running costs had to be covered.
How they use FundTap
Their broker introduced them to FundTap in October 2024. Once a council invoice is issued, they fund it and cover the running costs. The council pays as normal, and FundTap never contacts it.
Five invoices were funded in 2024, two of them in November. Seven followed in 2025 and one in January 2026. They’ve used FundTap in nine of the 24 months since their first funding.

What’s changed
The owner went full time on the business, and the funding limit has been raised twice since October 2024. The account covers running costs in the wait between a council invoice going out and the council paying it.
