Running other businesses’ social pages
The business is a marketing consultancy in the top of the South Island. It runs social media pages for other businesses, trains their people to get more out of those pages, and writes the content for their websites.
The work is billed on terms, and the clients are split across the month. Some are invoiced on the 20th and pay by the 30th. The rest are invoiced on the 30th and pay by the 20th of the month after.
So there is always an invoice run due soon, and not always money in hand on the day a bill lands.
“...it’s basically one half on one date and one half on the other.”
From a call with the FundTap team, January 2026
A cost that couldn’t wait
When they signed up in January 2026, the owner told the FundTap team the business was slowly gaining traction and needed to cover its costs through that growth.
Then a cost came up that fell before the invoices were due. The month’s invoices were already out, and the money on them wasn’t due until the 20th.
Funding the invoices due on the 20th
Their broker had introduced them to FundTap. They signed up in January 2026, connected their accounting software, and went in with a clear idea of which invoices suited it.
The owner also asked the FundTap team what would happen if a client paid late. They funded six invoices that month and saw the fee on each one before committing. The clients paid the business on their usual dates.
“...make sure that I have my good payees who pay on time, every time.”
From a call with the FundTap team, January 2026
Money in before the bill
The cost was covered without waiting for the 20th. The clients weren’t asked to pay any sooner, and nothing about their invoices changed.
For a consultancy that bills everything on terms, that is the whole point. The work was done and invoiced, and the money arrived ahead of the due date, when the business needed it.
Nothing has been funded since January 2026, and nothing has been charged since either. The account is there for the next time a cost lands before the invoices are due.
In a public review, the owner described FundTap as a good fit for businesses and praised the customer service team.
