Clean before the keys are handed over
The business specialises in new-build cleaning across Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Once a house is built, and before it goes to its new owners, the crew goes through and gets it ready. A lot of that work is group housing, built in volume by big companies.
They also do exterior cleaning on new and existing homes, from windows to concrete.
The invoice goes out when a job is complete. The customers are big companies, and big companies pay the month after.
“...invoicing is done like on completion of job. We send out an invoice and then normally these, because they’re big, like we only really do work for big companies and they’ll pay the following month.”
From a call with the FundTap team, September 2025
A site that kept calling them back
The job was planned as a short one. Then the builder kept calling the crew back to the site, with more visits still to come. Each trip back meant another round of wages, on a job that had already been invoiced.
That invoice sat on the builder’s terms, due the month after. The business was fronting the wages, and the next pay run and the insurance fell due before that payment.
When they signed up, the owner told the FundTap team the wages and the insurance had to be covered while that invoice waited.
“...we’ve been called back multiple times... and each time has costed us in wages.”

Funding the invoice from that site
They signed up in September 2025 with that invoice already sent, connected Xero and chose it as the first one to fund. The fee was there to see before they committed.
The builder still pays the business on its usual terms, the month after.
Wages covered until the builder paid
With that invoice funded, the wages and the insurance were covered while the builder’s payment worked its way through the following month. The crew was paid for the extra site visits, and the business wasn’t carrying them on its own until the builder paid.
Since then they’ve funded 16 invoices, seven of them in March 2026, the busiest month so far.
Only when a job needs it
The most recent invoice funded was in June 2026. Nothing has gone through since, and that hasn’t cost them anything: there are no ongoing fees, and the fee is only ever on an invoice they put through.
The next time a site runs long and the builder’s payment sits in the following month, it’s there for that invoice.
