The story in short
- 27 invoices funded since August 2024, each on its own day
- 26 of 26 months used since their first funded invoice
- 12 invoices funded in 2025, their first full year
The gap
The consulting is the steady part. The contract renews each year, and the council pays on a fixed day in the following month, with very little variation.
The owner also runs a second, hands-on business, and the cash goes out there before it comes in from the consulting. Tax payments land on their own schedule too.
How they use FundTap
They’d used invoice finance before, so they knew what they wanted. The plan was to fund the consulting invoice and put the cash where it was needed first.
Since August 2024 they’ve funded an invoice in every one of the 26 months, 27 invoices in all. The rhythm has held: six invoices in 2024, 12 in 2025 and nine so far in 2026. The council carries on paying on its usual day.

What’s changed
Funding the monthly invoice has become routine. The consulting still pays on its fixed day, and the second business gets what it needs when it needs it.
Sound like your business?
A contract that renews each year and pays on a fixed date each month is easy to plan around. It’s just as easy to fund against when another part of the business needs the cash sooner.
Fund a specific invoice when the timing doesn’t work. Pay nothing when it does.
