A truck and trailer on landfill runs
The business is a truck owner-driver in Auckland, running a bulk truck and trailer. The work is waste: loads collected from a yard and delivered to landfill for the buyer.
The buyer takes care of the invoicing, and the business is paid on the 25th.
“...It’s a bulk truck and trailer. We deliver waste from a yard to a landfill...”
From a call with the FundTap team, January 2026
Long after the last load
The loads done at the start of a month aren’t paid for until the 25th of the month after. By then the next month’s loads are well under way, and the one after that is about to start.
When they signed up in January 2025, the owner explained to the FundTap team that the paperwork for a month’s work went to the buyer in the first week of the next month, and the money came on the 25th of that month.
The truck keeps working for the buyer through all of it, with the pay for a month’s loads landing almost two months after the first of them.
Funding the invoice for the loads
Their broker introduced them to FundTap, and they signed up in January 2025. In March 2025 they funded their first invoice.
They choose the invoice to fund and see the fee before they commit. The buyer pays the business on the 25th, as it did before.
Not waiting on the buyer
With the invoice funded, the money for a month’s loads is in the business before the buyer’s 25th comes round, and the truck keeps working for the buyer in the meantime.
They funded nine invoices in 2025 and nine more in 2026 to September, 18 in all since March 2025, the most recent in September 2026. There are no ongoing fees: only the invoices they fund cost anything.
