The story in short
- 14 invoices funded since March 2023
- 5 invoices funded in December 2023, their busiest month
- 10 months they’ve used FundTap across more than three years
- 1 increase to their funding limit
The gap
This firm delivers commercial fit-outs for professional services clients. New clients pay a deposit and short terms. Larger, long-standing clients pay on the 20th of the month.
The timing problem came at the end of one big job. A retention payment from the client was still outstanding. The supplier wanted final payment before releasing the last materials, and the firm couldn’t invoice that stage until they arrived. Recent work for a few developers added to it, because their project timelines kept moving.
How they use FundTap
Their broker introduced them to FundTap in March 2023, with that exact problem. They fund invoices they’ve already issued and use the cash to pay the supplier. Clients pay as normal, and FundTap doesn’t contact them.
Most use came early. Seven invoices were funded in 2023, five of them in December alone. Four followed in 2024 and three in 2025.

What’s changed
Retention can stay with the client for as long as it needs to. More than three years on, the account is there when a late milestone or retention holds the money up. The funding limit has been raised once.
