The story in short
- 13 invoices funded since October 2024
- 11 of them funded in 2025
- 11 of 24 months they’ve used FundTap since their first funding
The gap
Most of this contractor’s work is for councils. It invoices every month, and the councils pay on the 20th of the following month. They’re good payers, with the odd payment arriving a little late.
In September 2024 a contract renewal had dragged on, and invoicing had slowed while costs carried on. A purchase order for the next month had just come in. The payment for it wouldn’t land until the month after.
How they use FundTap
They bring the monthly council invoice across from Xero and fund it. FundTap never contacts the council, which pays as it always has. In all, 13 invoices have been funded across 11 months, two in 2024 and the rest in 2025.
In December 2025 three mowers were out of action and parts were delayed. The owner funded an invoice to buy a replacement.

“...the problem is that someone can’t supply me with parts, and I’ve got three mowers down, so I’m going to have to buy another mower.”

What’s changed
Nothing has been funded since December 2025. By March 2026 the owner told the FundTap team that cash was healthy and income dips in winter. FundTap stays in place for the months when a council payment lags the work.
“...Obviously our income is a little bit cyclical, so we have a bit of a downturn in winter, so sometimes we might be getting back to using you again, but at the moment we’ve got cash surplus...”
