The story in short
- 2 invoices funded, in September and December 2024
- 1 invoice in each of the months they used FundTap
- 25 months since their first funded invoice
The gap
Most of the work is keeping heavy trucks certified and back on the road, with civil and general engineering alongside. Customers usually put down a deposit and pay promptly.
Councils don’t pay a deposit. They, and some larger firms, pay on the 20th of the month after the invoice. A repair can also turn out bigger than quoted, so the final invoice grows.
How they use FundTap
The idea was to cover the wait on those slower invoices, so the regular monthly payments go out on time. Early on, the owner asked how it would work when a customer had already paid a deposit.
The FundTap team said it could handle that. The first invoice was funded in September 2024, and the second in December 2024, ahead of Christmas.
What’s changed
Two invoices have been funded, one in September 2024 and one in December 2024. There have been none since, so it has been a light touch.
The councils and firms on the other end still pay the business on their usual schedule. Nothing changes for them.
In a public review, the owner said the process was easy and the money landed in their bank account.
