The gap

Wine is slow money: it spends well over a year in the cellar before it goes to market. Direct sales are paid on delivery, wholesale on short terms, and distributors and export buyers well after shipment.

Winemaking for other wineries is paid on short terms too, but cash is needed long before any of those payments arrive. Bulk wine has to be bottled for the orders on hand, so stock is ready when buyers are.

How they use FundTap

The owner joined in March 2024 to bring cash forward for each bottling run, so stock was ready for market. Their buyers pay as normal, and FundTap doesn’t contact them.

What’s changed

In a public review, the owner said it helped them build up stock and smooth out cashflow, and that the team was very helpful.
